Medication Monitoring
Medication monitoring is essential to some of our students. Nursing, along with the school's Behaviorist, has started monitoring students on antipsychotics.
They are tracking student behaviors with data sheets so parents and doctors are fully aware of a student's progress as it relates to medication. This data allows a physician to adjust medications to meet the needs of a student.
Influenza Update
Our child health policy is that a student should be kept home - or will be sent home - for the following reasons:
1. Temperature above 100.4 degrees F; with sore throat, excessive cough, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, earache, irritability or confusion. Must be without fever for 24 hours before returning to school.
2. Vomiting - must be sympton free for 24 hours before returning to school.
3. Diarrhea - from causes other than laxatives or other medications - must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school.
4. Communicable Disease - according to Department of Health and Human Services and NH State Guidelines.
5. Lethargy or Diarrhea - from laxatives or other medications - that impairs the students ability to participate in school activities, as evidenced by the student's teacher.
6. A physician's clearance will be required if a child has been absent 5 consecutive days, has been hospitalized, or been in any situation posing a health risk to this student or to other students.
